We have a new gun-type barcode reader from SUNMI, that is capable of reading all available barcodes, including 1D and 2D, at the same pric as a traditional 1D barcode reader. 
The SUNMI U2 reader features a light and vibration to confirm the reading and can handle drops of up to 120cm.
